What’s on your 2025 resolution list?
2025 is here and with the new year comes the inevitable resolutions. How about making a house related goal (or two)?
Here are a few that we think are attainable and not too overwhelming.
Declutter and Organize: If you read this blog regularly, you know we are big believers in regular decluttering and organizing. Doing a little bit often is so much less overwhelming than tackling a whole room or house. Commit to a space a week and by the end of 2025 you will likely have gone through your entire home.
Improve energy efficiency: Whether it’s sealing drafts, using a programmable thermostat, adding insulation or installing low-flow water fixtures, there are lots of ways to tweak your energy usage that aren’t too expensive or time consuming.
Schedule routine maintenance: This seems basic but a lot of homeowners fail to keep up with routine maintenance. Whether it’s monthly tasks like cleaning the garbage disposal, seasonal jobs like servicing the HVAC or annual maintenance such as deep cleaning carpets and upholstery, if it’s in your calendar, it is much more likely you will get the task done.
Enhance curb appeal: While we are in the dead of winter right now, it’s actually a great time to start thinking about your landscaping and mapping out any changes you have been meaning to make. Nothing helps us get through the dark winter evenings like poring over flower and shrub catalogs.
Sustainable upgrades: Make 2025 the year you add one or two sustainability features to your home. For example try composting, add rain barrels to your downspouts or switch over to LED lighting.
Are you going to add any of these to your 2025 resolution list? Let us know if you do!
